On 20th November 2012, Gabungan Mahasiswa Islam Se-Malaysia(GAMIS) presented by the president Mr. Azan Saffar and deputy president Mr Eikhwan Ali had lead the submission of memorandum regarding the issue of Israel’s attack on Gaza. They had arrived at Turkish embassy on 2.45 pm and being greeted and interviewed by dozens of police before Gunay Babadogan Ertan, Deputy Chief of Mission entered. The mission completed on 3.30 pm.
The stance and demands are:
1. We raise concerns that the diplomatic relations between your country and Israel are allowing Israeli interests to enter Malaysia through your country.
2. We are alarmed that this back door channels are benefiting Israeli entities that are responsible directly and indirectly for the massacres in Gaza.
3. As a representative of Muslim youth in Malaysia we take a strong view against the promotion of Israeli interests in our beloved country.
4. We refer to the on-going negotiations between Malaysia and Turkey to liberalize trade. We take a strong view against the use of your country for possible entry of Israeli goods and services into Malaysia.
In the spirit of Muslim solidarity against Israeli aggression and war crimes, we urge your country to take concrete measures towards severing diplomatic ties with Israel.
